Coasteering courses and weekends in Pembrokeshire

What is coasteering?

Coasteering originated over 100 years ago in the UK when early climbing pioneers traversed rocky sea cliffs – now it’s proving to be THE ultimate coastal adventure. If you’ve ‘been there, done that’ with white water rafting and bungee jumping, you’ll find coasteering the Pembrokeshire coastline provides a new and refreshing slant on adventure!

See the gallery for more coasteering pictures.

Kitted up in a wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy jacket and a pair of trainers you get the chance to explore the Pembrokeshire coast National Park at sea level – you’ll find yourself swimming into sea caves, climbing up through natural rock arches, flinging yourself from towering vertical rock faces, and perhaps even swimming with Atlantic grey seals.

Whether the sea is flat calm and reflecting the suns rays like a mirror, or raging and boiling as the waves pound the cliffs base, a superb coasteer can be guaranteed, with the emphasis on cliff jumping, wave dodging and rock traversing shifting according to the conditions; no two coasteers are ever the same.

What happens on a wicked liquid coasteering weekend course?

In the course of your coasteering break our fully qualified instructors will help you boldly go where you have never been before! You will take 2 coasteering sessions at 2 different venues and your third activity will be an awe inspiring coastal hike. We’ve got the world renowned National Park Coastal Path on the very Western tip of Europe right on our doorstep. Unwind amidst the spectacular cliff top scenery – it’s the perfect accompaniment to the adrenalin charged adventure activities.

If you know that you’ll be chomping at the bit for more adventure you might like to swap the hike for another adventure activity – why not try surfing  or sea kayaking? Then again, you might just relish the chance to chill out amongst the wild flowers.

You will have your own Preseli Venture Event Manager for the duration, who will make sure your chosen adventures, ideal accommodation at the Preseli Venture ecolodge, good food and a spectacular environment merge seamlessly into a weekend you and your fellow adventurers will talk about forever. Your activities will be led by our qualified and friendly instructors who really know their stuff. All your food for the weekend Friday night to Sunday lunch is provided, meals are home cooked and wholesome, and vegetarians are happily catered for!

From the moment we arrived, everything was fantastic. The staff bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. We booked an adventure weekend (Wicked Liquid) which included two nights full board, two activities and a self-guided cliff walk. For the price, it was excellent value. The food is good homecooked, and plenty of it. I was travelling with two gluten intollerant friends and there was always a gluten-free alternative prepared for them. The beds were very comfortable and the place was quiet after 10, everyone was exhausted. There's no mobile signal here, but there is a payphone so you won't be out of touch. They also have wifi. I would have no hesitation in recommending Preseli, and intend to go back again.
