Sample Itinerary for your holiday: programme may change according to tides and swell
Sunday Arrive in time for a home cooked evening meal, served at 7.00pm, settle in and relax at the lodge. You’re welcome to arrive after 5.00pm and take a beautiful woodland walk to our unspoilt beach.
Monday Jump straight into the fun and exhilaration on a half day coasteering, the ultimate coastal adventure – climb, swim and jump into a whole new world. Sea caves and swirling ocean swells combine to produce a truly wild environment. Watch out, it’s addictive! In the afternoon enjoy an amazing boat trip around Ramsey island RSPB to hang out with the seals and sea birds, and run the ‘the Bitches’ tidal race in Ramsey sound. You need to provide your own transport or a taxi to get to/from boat trip. The activity is included in the holiday cost.
Tuesday Today is your expedition day, a full day sea kayaking along the Pembrokeshire coastline, a place where rocks, caves, seals, birds, waves, surf, beaches, harbours and much more make our coast a real sea kayaker’s paradise. Hone your sea kayaking skills, with the emphasis on exploration and wildlife watching along this inspirational coastline. Picnic lunch on a deserted beach or inaccessible (apart from by kayak) rocky nook!
Wednesday Another busy day today, in the morning you’ll take a half day surfing on one of our Pembrokeshire beach breaks, basing yourself at a beautiful beach, followed by lunch at the lodge. For the afternoon you have a choice: either a wonderful self guided coastal walk, or an exciting kite boarding session.
Coastal Walk: we have the world renowned Pembrokeshire Coastal Path on the very western tip of Europe right on our doorstep. Unwind amidst the spectacular cliff top scenery and chill out amongst the wild flowers – it’s the perfect accompaniment to the adrenalin charged adventures. We drop you off at a choice of points along the coast and you’ll finish up at our local beach, lovely!
Kite boarding: we’ve teamed up with a local specialist to offer a half day kite boarding on the wonderful sandy expanse of Newgale beach. Kiteboarding is lots of fun but VERY weather dependent so we don’t charge in advance for this activity, and payment of £45 can be made to the kiteboarding company. Also, for this activity you’ll need to provide your own transport.
Thursday Coasteering, we’ll choose another of our awesome venues along the North Pembrokeshire coastline. Whether the sea is flat calm and reflecting the suns rays like a mirror, or raging and boiling as the waves pound the cliffs base, a superb coasteer can be guaranteed, with the emphasis on cliff jumping, wave dodging and rock traversing shifting according to the conditions; no two coasteers are ever the same. Hot home cooked lunch at the lodge, followed by a second amazing surf lesson where standing up can be almost guaranteed! In tumbling surf you laugh at the sky, so much fun and you learn a new skill in beautiful surroundings.
Friday We’ve partnered up with Twiggy and her team at Llanwnda Stables to offer an hour and a half horse ride where you can enjoy inspirational views of the Strumble Head peninsula from horseback. If horse riding doesn’t rock your boat – you’re welcome to opt into an alternative activity so do just let us know in advance. Lunch at the lodge, and depart.
NB We are sorry but we are unable to offer transport to/from the horse-riding stables, so you’ll need to provide your own transport, or a taxi. The horse-riding activity is included in the holiday cost.
This is an outline itinerary, and is therefore subject to change for exactly when each activity will take place. This can vary according to your own preferences, and to weather and tides on that particular week. Please contact us if you have any questions or requests.
