What do our accreditations actually mean?

Adventure Activities Licensing Service.Preseli Venture are inspected by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service every two years in regard to the activities of sea kayaking, coasteering and surfing. Particular attention is on our safety management systems with young people, and we have been able to demonstrate compliance with nationally accepted standards of good practice in the delivery of adventure activities with due regard to the benefits and risks of the activities. AALS is run by the Health and Safety Executive in Wales.

British Canoeing inspect us every two years with close scrutiny of all our sea kayaking operations. Preseli Venture are an Approved Provider and are licensed to deliver British Canoeing star awards, from personal ability 1-3 star awards, up to the 4 star leadership award training and assessment courses.Adventuremark is a safety scheme run by the Adventure Activity Industry Advisory Committee (AAIAC) for providers of adventurous activities. Adventuremark allows providers to demonstrate that their arrangements for managing the potential risks of adventure activities have been inspected and found to meet the necessary standards of good practice in the adventure activity industry.

Learning Outside the Classroom is the nationally recognised indicator of good quality educational provision The  LOtC Quality Badge provides a national award combining the essential elements of provision – learning and safety – into ONE easily recognisable and trusted accreditation scheme for ALL types of learning outside the classroom provider throughout the UK.
