Resilience in the Workplace: Boosting resilience for the mind, body and spirit

In a world of uncertainty, your team and the individuals within it need to have strength and resilience to face the new challenges ahead.

How do you boost your team’s resilience to change and uncertainty?

How do you overcome the need for a rapid form and perform of your newly formed team?

In a world that is virtual how do we get real?

Our programmes deliver face to face time with colleagues and team workers to maintain the essential social networks that are needed for an effective and resilient team.

Our aims

Using the powerful experiential learning of outdoor adventures and challenges in the inspirational environment of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in Wales, we offer team programmes that will act to re-energise and re-boot your team.

What is Resilience?

Resilient people have strong resources and skills to manage stress and conflict as well as a good support network to help them deal with the pressures of work.

Resilient people are also flexible, adapt to new and different situations, learn from experience, are optimistic and ask for help when they need it.

Building resilience is one way we can all reduce our stress at work and contribute to a more mentally healthy workplace, says Dr Sam Harvey, a psychiatrist with Black Dog Institute. And also head of the Workplace Mental Health Research Group

“There is strong evidence that, even in difficult workplace situations with difficult jobs and not much control, if you feel good and supported, then that buffers the effect of difficult situations,” Harvey says.

“Good relationships can help people increase a sense of belonging, confidence and self worth. They can also help people cope with the stress of work and cope better with challenges,” Oades says.

Where do you stay?

The Preseli Venture 5 star Eco lodge right on the coast in the heart of the beautiful and remote Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in west Wales is the perfect retreat venue for the corporate programmes. With exclusive use of the eco-lodge participants find the space and peace to refocus their attitudes towards each other. By providing different challenges to their traditional workplace issues, team members build new relationships based on the people they are, not the function they perform.
