Adventure holidays for singles
If you’re looking for a singles holiday with a difference…you’ve found the right place. This is not a traditional ‘dating event’ – it’s 5 days of unaldulturated adventure and inspirational experiences on a beautiful National Park coastline, all shared with a group of like minded single adventure seekers. You’ll find yourself leaping from vertical rock faces, kayaking into caves that echo with the songs of seals, frolicking on a deserted moonlit beach, and stargazing around a bonfire under a picture perfect night sky.
This adventure holiday for singles offers the perfect opportunity to experience unique and exciting adventure activities under the expert guidance of our professional guides. You’ll be well looked after by our team of friendly staff, and enjoy excellent hospitality at our fully catered 5 star eco lodge.
After many years of guests making lifelong friendships, hooking up and even getting married after their adventures with us we decided to make a dedicated event for those looking for fun times, friendship…and maybe even love 🙂
When does your singles adventure holiday take place?
We’ll be running this event on the 6th – 10th June and September 12th – 16th 2016.
What happens on the holiday?
Monday Arrive in time for a home cooked lunch, followed by a half day coasteering, the ultimate coastal adventure – climb, swim and jump into a whole new world. Sea caves and swirling ocean swells combine to produce a truly wild environment. Watch out, it’s addictive!
Tuesday Today is a biggie, a full day sea kayaking along the Pembrokeshire coastline, a place where rocks, caves, seals, birds, waves, surf, beaches, harbours and much more make our coast a real sea kayaker’s paradise. Hone your sea kayaking skills, with the emphasis on exploration and wildlife watching along this inspirational coastline.
Wednesday Another busy day today, we recommend taking a half day surfing on one of our Pembrokeshire beach breaks, basing yourself at a beautiful beach, followed by lunch. For the afternoon you have a choice: either a wonderful self guided coastal walk along the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline, or an exciting kite boarding session at a nearby sandy beach.
For the coastal walk, we have the world renowned Pembrokeshire National Park Coastal Path on the very western tip of Europe right on our doorstep. Unwind amidst the spectacular cliff top scenery and chill out amongst the wild flowers – it’s the perfect accompaniment to the adrenalin charged adventure activities.
For the kite boarding we’ve been teaming up with a local kite boarding specialist to offer a half day experience on the wonderful sandy expanse of Newgale beach. Kiteboarding is the perfect ‘light wind’ complement to kitesurfing, involving similar skills without getting wet. As you would imagine, kiteboarding is lots of fun but VERY weather dependent! Because of this we don’t charge you in advance for this activity, and payment can be made to the kiteboarding company when and if the activity takes place. Also, you’ll need to provide your own transport to get to and from the kite boarding.
Thursday Coasteering again, we’ll choose another of our awesome venues along the North Pembrokeshire coastline. Whether the sea is flat calm and reflecting the suns rays like a mirror, or raging and boiling as the waves pound the cliffs base, a superb coasteer can be guaranteed, with the emphasis on cliff jumping, wave dodging and rock traversing shifting according to the conditions; no two coasteers are ever the same! Lunch at the lodge, followed by an afternoon on the beach for surfing – a second chance to hone your skills and get standing up on your surf board!
Friday We’ve partnered up with Twiggy and her team at Llanwnda Stables to offer an hour and a half horse ride where you can enjoy inspirational views of the Strumble Head peninsula from horseback. If horse riding doesn’t rock your boat – you’re welcome to opt into an alternative activity, just let us know. Lunch at the lodge, and depart.
NB We are sorry but we are unable to offer transport to/from the horse-riding venue, so you’ll need to provide your own transport. If you are travelling here by train then taxis are available for the 15 minute drive and please do ask for taxi costs at the time of booking. Alternatively you could opt into another activity so please do ask us for more info. The horse-riding activity is included in the holiday cost.
NB This is an outline itinerary, and is therefore subject to change according to your own preferences and to weather and tides and programming logistics. Please contact us if you have any questions or requests.
What can we do in the evenings?
Don’t worry, there’ll be no speed dating itinerary! The evenings are chilled and fun with no fixed timetable. Our bar and dining area has a pool table plus table football and an incredible music system with spotify premium. The PV bar is well stocked with a wide range of tipples to suit everyone, including local Welsh and Pembrokeshire brews. We’ll have a bonfire under the stars here in our sheltered lodge garden, take a wander through the woods down to our local beach, and if you want to sample the local, small and friendly hill top village of Mathry, it’s just a short walk from the lodge and will give you a real taste of rural Welsh life. From here you can look out over the Preseli Hills; the source of the ‘bluestone’ of Stonehenge.
New for 2016 We have teamed up with a local yoga practitioner who provides tailor made yoga classes at Preseli Venture. This is a lovely way to unwind in the evenings, stretching out your aching limbs and immersing yourself in the down to earth Pembrokeshire lifestyle.
Nathalie Mérour has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and in 2010 decided to go deeper into discovering the secrets of yoga through dedicated practice, taking courses and becoming a qualified teacher.
Nathalie provides 1-hour Power yoga sessions or 1h 30 Hatha Yoga sessions with prices starting from £8pp / hour. Just let us know if you would like to add a lovely evening of yoga to your holiday.
Are there any participant restrictions?
On this Adventurous Encounters singles adventure weekend we welcome adults of 18 years and over. The activities are open to everyone, you don’t need to have previous experience and you don’t need to be particularly outdoorsy, just come equipped with a go for it attitude and a sense of fun! Participants should have a reasonable general level of health and will be asked to fill in a medical declaration form on arrival at the lodge. All participants need to be happy to be in the water and ideally have some very basic swimming ability.
