We can offer you a progressive series of sea kayaking courses and holidays to suit the total beginner, stretch the improver paddler with skills and experience on the sea, and ensure that more advanced techniques, kayaking fitness and understanding of the tides and currents are acquired to go “Island Bagging” as a fully fledged intermediate sea kayaker. From floating in a tranquil bay surrounded by sea birds and seals, through to the exhilaration of surfing a sea kayak through roaring tidal races our sea kayaking packages offer a structured approach to both the sport and the exploration of the National Park. The British Canoe Union (BCU) performance awards, which are the 1, 2, and 3 star tests, can be taken, or worked towards, as part of this personal ability progression. The 3 star intermediate paddler Performance award and the 4 star Leadership award are both provided by Preseli Venture on dedicated courses so please check out the dates for the 3 and 4 star training and assessment courses in 2016.

Just returned from the sea kayaking weekend, which I attended on my own, but met lots of lovely, friendly people. Had an awesome time! Would definitely recommend. The lodge is really cosy and the staff are wonderful and friendly, the food plentiful and tasty...well-stocked bar! There are loads of loos and showers, so you didn't have to wait after getting back drenched and happy! Our Guides John and Sam where incredible, especially considering that we had some pretty choppy conditions on the first day and that the group had mixed experience levels. I'll certainly be going back for more adventures....

What do I need to wear and what equipment will you supply?

We’ll provide you with a kayaking ‘long john wetsuit’ underneath which you’ll wear your own bathing suit and a synthetic or fleece thermal top. We’ll supply kayak jackets, buoyancy aids, wetsuit boots and a helmet so that you’ll be warm, safely floaty and well protected. We will also supply a specialist sea kayak for these courses and holidays.

What if I can’t make one of those dates?

If you have a group of 6 or more, we can run a sea kayaking event on almost any weekend or mid week date that suits you. Please do contact us for prices and details should you have an alternative date in mind.
