  • Self-guided trail from sea to summit: follow the trail from Newport to the summit of Mynydd Caregog.
  • Hire a high-end Orange Phase S e-mountain bike and explore the trail at your own pace.
  • 1.5 hours between pick up and drop off. Arrive 30 mins before pick up for orientation.

What are the timings? +

Full-day Tours: 09:30-14:30

Hire: Typically pick up will be at 09:00; 11:00; 13:00; 15:00 or 17:00.

You must arrive 30 minutes prior to your start time/ pick up time for orientation.

Are there any age restrictions? +

The minimum age allowed is 14.

Under 18s mmuts be accompanied by an adult.

Are there any height restrictions? +

The bikes are suitable for those 5ft 3in/160cm and above.

Do I need any previous experience? +

Although this is beginner-friendly, a basic level of fitness is required and the ability to cycle proficiently is essential. However, you’ll have electrical assistance so you don’t need to be super fit.

If worst comes to the worst and you get too tired to continue with the tour, your guide can always arrange a taxi back to the starting point for you.

The guides are very skilled at planning and adapting routes according to the ability of the participants.

What should i wear/ bring? +

  • Clothes to cycle in.
  • Shoes to cycle in (closed toe e.g. trainers).
  • Waterproofs (a good jacket is essential, waterproof trousers are highly recommended).
  • Warm clothes (base layer, jumper, gloves, snood are good).
  • Water bottle and any snacks you might like along the way.
  • A backpack (one which clips at the chest and/or waist is useful).
  • Clothes to change into after riding.

What kit it provided? +

An Orange Phase S electric mountain bike and cycle helmet.

How many people will be in the group? +

Groups are limited to six riders and one guide.

What happens if the weather is bad? +

The bikes can handle rain and mud with ease as they’e designed for off-roading.

There are a wide range of trails to choose from as well as access to a nearby trail centre, so in all but the most extreme weather conditions there is always somewhere to ride.

You’ll need to wear/ pack appropriate gear for the weather.

Remember that the weather can change quickly in the hills and the conditions can change significantly between the starting point in Newport, and up in the Preselis.
