Come join our merry team of adventurers here on the Pembrokeshire Coast – we are recruiting for both instructing and hospitality roles to start in Spring 2018.

Our staff are one of the key elements in ensuring that our guests leave Preseli Venture with their expectations exceeded, in both the wonderful adventure experiences, and the exceptional ecolodge hospitality that made them feel as though they are ‘home from home’.

We are looking for people who are passionate about sharing our love for this inspirational natural playground which we are lucky enough to live in. We have vacancies for some key staff members to join the Preseli Venture team, and who want to play a part in making sure that each and every one of our guests have a positive and worthwhile experience they’ll remember for a lifetime.

Lead instructors

Responsibilities

You will be the lead instructor in one or more of our adventure activities of coasteering, sea kayaking and surfing, with qualifications and professional experience as required. You will be working with a variety of guests that we have including adults, corporate, schools, students and families. A love for the natural world and a passion for Pembrokeshire are both essential.

Requirements

You should have lead experience and relevant qualifications in at least one of the following:

  • Coasteering
  • Sea kayaking
  • Surfing

D1 minibus driving (or the ability to pass it) is essential

Months/days

Job is for the main summer season May 2018 – Sept 2018 and full time or part-time contracts available. Extra days will also be available for those who would like more work outside of main season from March through to November 2018

Pay:

from £300/week (35 hours) depending on experience

Assistant instructors

Responsibilities

You will be the assistant instructor, working under our lead instructors, in one or more of our adventure activities of coasteering, sea kayaking and surfing. You will receive relevant training (and qualifications where possible) in this role from our experienced instructors.You will be working with a variety of guests that we have including adults, corporate, schools, students and families. A love for the natural world and a passion for Pembrokeshire are both essential.

Requirements

You should have some experience and ideally a minimum of one qualification from the following:

  • Surf life-saving/beach lifeguard
  • Kayak 3-star sea or above
  • PSV minibus driving
  • ASI level 1 surf coach

Coasteering experience is desirable, and you will need to gain a 2-day first aid certificate

Months/days

This job is for the main summer season May 2018 – Sept 2018 and is a full-time contract. Extra days will also be available for those who would like more work outside of main season from March through to November 2018

Pay:

from £250/week (35 hours) depending on experience

Lodge Hospitality and Event Co-ordinator

Responsibilities

Working as the team leader for the lodge hospitality team, you are responsible for the day to day running of the lodge. Your role will be front of house and hospitality, co-ordinating the weekends and holidays to ensure everything runs smoothly every day. Additional responsibilities to include kitchen duties, involvement in social media, and customer service roles.

Experience required:

  • Experience in hospitality
  • Passion for excellent customer service
  • Forward-thinking problem solver and capable team leader

Must be willing and able to gain D1 minibus driving qualification.

Also an advantage to have some experience in the following:

working in a catering kitchen, experience of bar work, understanding of housekeeping requirements, customer service roles

Months/days:

This is a minimum 9-month contract from March – November.

Shoulder season March – May and October – November: 4 days/week, approx 30 hours, Thurs – Sun

Main summer season May – September: full time 40+ hours

Pay:

From £18,252 pro rata depending on experience

Lodge cook

Responsibilities:

To be part of the lodge team with responsibility for preparing the home-made meals for guests staying at the lodge accommodation. Full cooked breakfasts, home-made lunches, 2-course evening meals, with one set menu each meal time (with vegetarian and special diet variations).

Experience required:

  • Previous experience of working in a catering kitchen
  • Ability to prepare freshly made home-cooked meals for up to 30 or 40 people
  • Food hygiene certificate to appropriate level

Months/Hours:

This is a minimum 9-month contract from March – November 2018

Shoulder season March – May and October – November: 3 days/week, approx 24 hours, Friday – Sunday

Main summer season May – September: full time 40+ hours

Pay:

From £10/hour depending on experience

Housekeeping staff

Responsibilities:

To be part of our lodge team with your responsibility to make the lodge clean and beautiful for our guests. Areas to clean include lounge and bar, bathrooms and bedrooms, making and stripping beds in the 11 bedrooms and geodesic dome, (max of 40 beds) and dealing with rubbish and recycling. Ensuring linen is sent off to cleaners and sorting on return. Reporting any lodge maintenence issues.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience of working in a hospitality environment
  • Willingness to do an excellent job and take pride in this essential role within the lodge team

Months/Hours:

This is a minimum 9-month contract from March – November 2018

Shoulder season March – May and October – November:  approx 12 hours, 2 days/week, Monday and Friday

Main summer season May – September: approx 15-20 hours, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Pay:

In the range from £7.50/hour – £9/hour depending on experience – looking to hire junior and senior housekeepers during main summer season
