Come join our merry team of adventurers here on the Pembrokeshire Coast – we are recruiting for both instructing and hospitality roles to start in Spring 2021.

Our staff are one of the key elements in ensuring that our guests leave Preseli Venture with their expectations exceeded, in both the wonderful adventure experiences, and the exceptional hospitality in our ecolodge accommodation, restaurant and bar.

We are looking for people who are passionate about sharing our love for this inspirational natural playground which we are lucky enough to call home. We have vacancies for some key staff members to join the Preseli Venture team, and who want to play a part in making sure that each and every one of our guests have a positive and worthwhile experience they’ll remember for a lifetime.

New for 2021, we are offering accommodation for some staff here at Preseli Venture.

Lead Instructors

Responsibilities

You will be the lead instructor in one or more of our adventure activities of coasteering, sea kayaking and surfing, with qualifications and professional experience as required. You will be working with a variety of guests that we have here including adults, corporate, schools, students and families. A love for the natural world and a passion for Pembrokeshire are both essential.

Requirements

You should have at least two of the following:

• Coasteering guide previous experience 
• Sea kayaking – 4 star/sea kayak leader qualification
• Surfing – ASI surf instructor
• Surf life-saving/beach lifeguard qualification

D1 minibus driving (or the ability to pass it) is very desirable

Months/days

Job is for the main summer season April 2021 – Sept 2021 and full time or part time contracts available. Extra weekend work will also be available for those who would like more work outside of main season from March through to November.

Pay:

from £9.50/hour – £11/hour (depending on qualifications and experience)

Assistant instructors

Responsibilities

You will be the assistant instructor, working under our lead instructors, in one or more of our adventure activities of coasteering, sea kayaking and surfing. You will receive relevant training (and qualifications where possible) in this role from our experienced instructors.You will be working with a variety of guests that we have including adults, corporate, schools, students and families. A love for the natural world and a passion for Pembrokeshire are both essential.

Requirements

You should have some experience and ideally a minimum of one qualification from the following:

• Surf life-saving/beach lifeguard
• Kayak 3-star sea or above
• first aid certificate (2 days)
• Coasteering experience

Months/days

from £8.20/hour to £8.80/hour depending on age and experience

Lodge Hospitality Staff

Responsibilities

As a part of the lodge hospitality team, you are working on the day to day running of the lodge accommodation, restaurant and bar. Your role can be any or all of the following: front of house and hospitality, kitchen assistant duties, assistant cook, bar person, house-keeping. 

Experience required:

• Experience in hospitality
• Passion for excellent customer service
• Experience in one or more roles: bar person, catering kitchen work, house-keeping

Months/days:

Full-time and part-time work available from April – November.

Pay:

From £8.20 – £9/hour depending on age and experience

Lodge cook

Responsibilities:

To be part of the lodge team with responsibility for preparing the home-made meals for guests staying at the lodge accommodation. Full cooked breakfasts, home-made lunches, 2-course evening meals, with one set menu each meal time (with vegetarian and special diet variations).

Experience required:

• Previous experience of working in a catering kitchen
• Ability to prepare freshly made home-cooked meals for up to 30 or 40 people
• Food hygiene certificate to appropriate level

Months/Hours:

Part-time work over summer season May – September

Pay:

From £10/hour depending on experience

Housekeeping staff

Responsibilities:

To be part of our lodge team with your responsibility to make the lodge clean and beautiful for our guests. Areas to clean include lounge and bar, bathrooms and bedrooms, making and stripping beds in the 11 bedrooms and geodesic dome, (max of 40 beds) and dealing with rubbish and recycling. Ensuring linen is sent off to cleaners and sorting on return. Reporting any lodge maintenence issues.

Experience required:

• Previous experience of working in a hospitality environment
• Willingness to do an excellent job and take pride in this essential role within the lodge team

Months/Hours:

Full-time and part-time positions available.

Pay:

In the range from £8.20/hour – £9/hour depending on experience – looking to hire junior and senior housekeepers during main summer season
