Glamping in the Geodesic Dome Dwelling

Preseli Venture has a lovely Geodesic Dome, for a perfect glamping holiday right on the stunning Pembrokeshire coast, and close to a safe and beautiful unspoilt beach. The Dome sits snugly at the edge of our natural woodland, a beautiful green swathe of trees and wildlife that stretches down the Abermawr valley to the beach and the Pembrokehire coast path.

The location is perfect for glamping, camping and dome living, totally sheltered and hidden at the bottom of the valley in the field below the eco lodge out of the wind and the elements.

This is a spacious low environmental impact structure which forms our latest innovative and eco-friendly accommodation.

Dome holidays for a unique experience

The dome is lovely and spacious, 6 meters in diameter and forms a unique space age structure, manufactured out of wood and canvas and fitted out for your comfort with all your essentials.

What’s inside the Dome?

The Dome has electricity, hoorah! so your essential modern day accessories like lighting, laptops and ipods will all work and can be charged up in the Dome.

The Dome is equipped with a lovely wooden floor with rugs, a double bed, two single futons, duvets and fresh linen for four, LED lights, fairy lights and a storage chest and cupboard for clothes. There is a delightful wood-burning stove to keep you cosy and warm at night.

The Dome can sleep up to five and we can provide an extra camp bed as required.

What’s outside the Dome?

Dome dwelling on the Pembrokeshire Coast would not be complete without a campfire and is also perfect for gazing up at the beautiful stars of the night sky ……no light pollution here.

There is a picnic table, and a gazeebo shelter for sitting out of the bright sun or the rain!

You are also welcome to use the large BBQ provided, just remember you’ll need some bbq fuel. If you do wish to do some camp cooking, you are welcome to bring along your own cooker etc.

A cold water tap for easy access to clean drinking water is situated right outside the dome.

Showers and Toilets

You use the excellent toilet and shower facilities at the 5 star eco lodge, just 50m across the field from the Dome.

Eating and Drinking

The choice is yours – eat all your delicious home-cooked meals in the eco lodge or bring your own equipment for camping self-catering and do your Dome thing.

Since we have our lovely eco lodge situated conveniently close to the Dome, you are very welcome to opt into some or all of the meals prepared for our lodge guests and eat in the eco lodge. We have a resident chef who prepares freshly cooked and delicious meals in our lodge kitchen and you can book sea food specials bought direct from the fisherman at our nearby picturesque harbour at Abercastle. Special diets are happily catered for, just let us know.

We stayed in the dome for a week and used it as a base to explore the wonderful pembrokeshire coastline. The dome was brilliant with everything we could possibly need and a cosy log burner to keep us warm in the evenings. We went to some awesome beaches and cycled the Brunel cycle trail and the reservoir at llys-y-Fran which was brilliant fun. Everyone at PV was so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and we had a great holiday.

Eco Lodge Bar and Lounge/Dining room facilities

Since the eco lodge is situated close by, when you wish you can pop up to the Bar and Lounge. We have a well-stocked bar with pool table and games. The lounge has a lovely wood-burning stove, and comfy sofas and you may find it useful to use the free WiFi available.

You park your car in our car park approximately 60m from the dome and we provide a wheel barrow to help you transport your luggage to and from the dome.

The dome accommodates 4/6 people in 1 double bed and 2 single futons. Duvets are provided with base sheets and additional blankets too.

Towels are not provided, so please bring your own.

You need to provide:…..

We supply your first tub of fire wood for the campfire and logs for the woodburner and then we ask you to purchase any extra tubs from us for a very reasonable charge.

Some other items suggested for you to bring on your holiday:

  • Personal towels
  • Charcoal is useful for the BBQ we provide.
  • Torch
  • Rubbish bags
  • Insect repellent (sometimes we get little midgey type flies, usually after a bit of rain, the smoke from the fire tends to get rid of them but if you are prone to bites, then some repellent or citronella candles can do the trick)

Please note: We ask that there is no smoking in the dome on the grounds of safety. We would be grateful if you respected this.
